The short version. This extension has no backend. There is no server operated by me, no account, and no analytics. Your settings and your API key stay in your own browser. The only data that ever leaves your machine is the text of a post you explicitly choose to respond to, sent directly from your browser to the AI provider you configured, using your own API key.

What the extension handles
Your AI provider API key (OpenAI or Anthropic)
Where it goes: Stored in chrome.storage.local — on your device only. It is deliberately kept out of Chrome sync storage so it never replicates through your Google account to other machines. Sent only to that provider over HTTPS.
Why: To authenticate the requests you initiate. I never see it.
Your preferences (provider, model, response length, style, emoji setting, saved contacts)
Where it goes: Stored in chrome.storage.sync, so they follow your signed-in Chrome profile.
Why: So your settings persist between sessions and across your own machines.
The text and author name of a LinkedIn post
Where it goes: Read from the page only at the moment you click a response option, then sent directly to your chosen AI provider over HTTPS.
Why: It is the context the model needs to draft a relevant comment. It is not stored anywhere by the extension.
Your example comments and any initial thoughts you type
Where it goes: Example comments are saved in your Chrome profile; both are included in the request to your chosen AI provider.
Why: To match your voice and steer the draft. Neither is stored by me.
What the extension does not do
- No server is operated on my side, and no data is transmitted to me at any point.
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reports, or usage statistics are collected.
- Your browsing history and web activity are not collected or transmitted. The extension runs only on linkedin.com, and reads a post only when you act on it.
- Data is never sold, rented, or shared with advertisers, data brokers, or information resellers.
- Your data is never used to train any model.
- The extension does not post, comment, connect, or message on your behalf. It writes a draft into the comment box; you review it and decide whether to publish it.
- No human reads your data, because it never reaches me.
Third-party AI providers
When you request a draft, your browser sends the post text and your instructions directly to the provider you selected, authenticated with your own API key. That request is governed by your agreement with that provider, not by me. Their handling of the data is described in their own policies:
If you would rather a given post never reach a third party, do not request a draft on it.
Security
- All network requests use HTTPS with modern TLS. The extension content security policy restricts connections to the two AI provider endpoints and LinkedIn.
- Your API key is held in device-local extension storage, isolated from web pages, and is never written into the page or logged. Only the extension background service worker reads it — the script running inside LinkedIn never has access to it.
- The extension loads no remote code. All logic ships inside the package and is reviewed by Google before publication.
Your control over your data
- Clear your API key and settings at any time from the extension settings panel.
- Removing the extension from Chrome deletes everything it stored.
- Because there is no server, there is nothing for me to delete on request — but write to me if you have a question and I will answer it.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use compliance
Think Big AI Responder for LinkedIn complies, in its use and transfer of information received through the extension, with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used solely to deliver the extension single, user-facing purpose — drafting a comment on a LinkedIn post you have chosen — and is never used for advertising, credit assessment, or resale.
Children
The extension is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If how data is handled changes, this page will be updated and the last updated date raised. For material changes, a notice will also be surfaced inside the extension after it updates, so you learn about the change without having to come looking for it. Continued use after that notice means you accept the revised policy.
