Your choice

What is collected without your permission

Page views and clicks, recorded anonymously. The only things kept on your device without asking are your answer to the banner, so you are not asked again, and your light or dark theme preference. No profile is built, and there is no way to link one visit to another. This tells me which pages people read. It cannot tell me who you are.

What is collected only if you allow it

Two things. A session recording, which captures how the page moved and where you clicked, so I can see how someone actually uses the site. And a small identifier stored in your browser, so I can tell that several page views were the same visit.

Text you type is masked in recordings. Questions you ask the chat widget are masked. The booking calendar runs in a frame from Calendly and cannot be recorded at all.

Where it goes

Analytics are processed by PostHog on their European infrastructure. Requests are sent through amirelion.com rather than directly to a third-party domain. This site also uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which are aggregate and do not use cookies. The Ask Amir chat widget loads from thinkbigleaders.com, so what you type into it leaves this site.

How long it is kept

Session recordings are kept for 30 days and then deleted. The anonymous event data — which pages were viewed, and when — is kept for seven years. That is PostHog's standard retention on this plan and I cannot shorten it; I would if I could. Recordings made before you change your mind are not retroactively deleted, so declining stops new ones rather than erasing old ones.

Where you came from

When you book a call, the site passes along how you found it — a search engine, LinkedIn, a chat app — so I know where the enquiry came from. This happens whether or not you allow storage; allowing it simply means the site can remember your original source across several pages rather than just the page you booked from. It records the referring site, the page you landed on, which button you clicked to reach the booking form, and the page you clicked it from. It does not record what you searched for.

Changing your mind

Use the buttons above at any time. Declining after previously allowing stops recording, removes the stored identifier, and deletes the referral information from your browser.
